Frontotemporal (Frontal Lobe) Dementia (FTD)
Formerly known as Pick's Disease, this is a very complicated type of dementia. It often masks types of dementia, i.e., Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s as well as schizophrenia and depression. It is often diagnosed when individuals are between 45 and 60. Memory is not the first thing to go, but you will see a difficulty with focusing, problems with communicating, walking, or even changes in personality.
